Code of Conduct for Fanwar LARP

You can go to the Discord and discuss in person what missions, quests, and groups you want to form to get things done or you can also request groups here with each other by writing a bit about your planned mission and preferred group size and then seeing who signs up for it. Once you have a big enough group that can all meet on the day you wish, you can then contact me with the request for the day. Below is an example-

Plan for the Event: Last time my character was exploring a map we found that looked like it had some connections to Tenor and an old riddle hall there. I never got to go and see if that dungeon was something we could explore and what it might reveal. I want to go back with a team of people good at dealing with riddles, traps, and some big monsters. We might not be able to do the whole dungeon with just one meeting, so if you want to do more, my plan is to keep this group together and then do maybe every week at the same time for about a month until it’s done.

OUTSIDE ASSIGNMENTS

These are projects players signed up for FANWAR LARP events can do any day, at any time, to gain bonus to their characters stats or ability checks for the day they are done (possibly longer in some cases). The effects usually last twenty-four hours, so you can do an activity the day before if and still keep the bonus the next day if you time it right.

(Duo) Fighting An Ogre: How this works- The student asks an adult or a sibling to play an Ogre for them. The ogre has 5 hit points while the student only has 1 hit point. The person playing the ogre can only walk but can take big steps if they wish. The goal is to tag the ogre all 5 times without getting tagged on the torso (it’s fine if the Ogre hits your arms or legs). You may use larp weapons you have if you wish, or simply use your hands or perhaps some fun noodles. Keep track of your score. How many times do you (a) try this game, and (b) how many times do you win, and (c) who you fight (sibling, parent, friend, etc.). Report this to your GM for a bonus to your characters stats. If you do this more than just one day, the bonus may become longer lasting. In order for a score to be recorded, you usually need to spend at least 30min on this project, and do at least 10 tries. Attempts [ ] Wins [ ] Opponent [ ]

(Solo) Target Practice: How this works- The student gets three clean socks and balls them up in the way that we would for a sock ball spell (they basically invert them over and over until they form a ball that can be thrown). The student then sets up something that is fun to knock over and sets it up in a safe place to throw the socks at the target. The student then starts at about 1 yard away and tries to knock down the target object with the three socks thrown one at a time. If they succeed, they reset the target, take a step further away, and then try again. This continues until you cannot hit the target with any of the three sockballs. Note how many steps was your maximum distance. You may try this as many times as you like and try to increase your range and accuracy (accuracy is how many of the sockballs hit at each distance- just 1, or all three!). Let your GM know your best score so they can add it to your character as a stat bonus. If you do this more than just one day, the bonus may become longer lasting. In order for a score to be recorded, you usually need to spend at least 30min on this project, and do at least 10 tries. Attempts [ ] Wins [ ]

(Solo or Duo) Navigator Ball: Some type of ball from a marble to a basketball, all work. You start with the ball on one side of the room or if outside on the side of the field. The goal is to move the ball from one side to the other without touching it with your body. Ideally the ball never stops moving. If it does, it can only stop 3 times before you fail. The ball is not allowed to be moved if it is stationary. It must roll for it to travel through space. You can take photos to share your design if you want. I intentionally leave the way to do this assignment vague so that you must be creative with how you solve it. It gives bonuses to your characters ability to track, detect traps and secret doors, and to deactivate things safely. For you to record a score you need to spend at least 30min on this assignment and make at least 10 attempts. Attempts [ ] Wins [ ]

(Duo) Bowgre Challenge: How this works- The student asks an adult or a sibling to play an Ogre for them. The ogre has 5 HP while the student only has 1 HP. How many times do you try this game, and how many times do you win. Report this to your GM for a bonus to your characters stats. If you do this more than just Monday, the bonus may become longer lasting. Bowgre Challenge has three ‘arrows’ - Try this with Missile Attacks (AV0 attacks).

For these effects to trigger in game you usually need to do at least 10 attempts to create a ratio, and you're trying to get around a 60% success rate for battles. [Fighting an Ogre gives a bonus melee attack, but Bowgre has missile attack gives attackers with missile attack a minus]. GM will vary this by the score you get.

(Solo) Angle Jump- A long pole or broom handle without end on the ground and the other up off the ground to some degree. Start at the small end (where the stick is lowest) and try to jump over it and keep jumping across the stick until you can’t make it across any more (usually you know the stick off its perch, so be prepared for that). Once you get up as far as you can, measure the distance that is your max jump height. Increases your characters jump distance and climbing speed (+10 travel distance in certain situations, +1 to reaction roll to save involving jumping).

(Duo) Guarded Treasure: How this works- The student asks an adult or a sibling to play an Ogre for them. The ogre has 5 HP while the student only has 1 HP. The person playing the ogre can only walk but can take big steps if they wish. You may use larp weapons you have if you wish, or simply use your hands or perhaps some fun noodles.

The goal is to steal the guarded treasure. The “Ogre” actually hides the treasure which is an object you both agree on as the treasure. Your goal is to find it, and steal it, and take it back to base (agreed on point).

If this is easy, try the Giant Variant. (10 HP, and throw boulders)

(Duo) Archer vs Giant Challenge: How this works- The student asks an adult or a sibling to play an Hill Giant for them. This Giant has 10 HP while the student only has 1 HP. The person playing the giant can only walk but can take big steps if they wish. The goal is to tag the Giant all 10 times without getting tagged on the torso (it’s fine if the Giant hits your arms or legs). You may only use missile attack to defeat this Giant (and you only get five actual “arrows/socks” to throw and pick up again. You will have to retrieve items from around the Giant if you have any chance of winning. The Giant can also use a soft ball like a soccer ball or a volleyball if you have one to toss as you for UB which counts as a Boulder. Keep track of your score. How many times do you try this game, and how many times do you win. Report this to your GM for a bonus to your characters stats. If you do this more than just Monday, the bonus may become longer lasting.

For these effects to trigger in game you usually need to do at least 10 attempts to create a ratio, and you're trying to get around a 60% success rate for battles. [Fighting the Giant gives a bonus either to your skill with missile attack and/or an additional bonus to dodge]. GM will vary this by the score you get.

(Duo) Hot Cold Tracking: You start out at a field or in a room. Someone hides an object or chooses an object that is at least 3 inches long and visible. You then have to find this object in the room. You can only ask a question fifteen total times. The questions you can ask are “Hot or Cold (relative to last ask)” and the other person then tells you if you are closer (“hotter”) or further away (“colder”) than the last place you asked for information. You are allowed to ask for your hand not your feet (meaning where your hand is). The other question you can ask is “Is this it?” You lose if you can’t ask “Is this it” when you find it.

Big tracking bonus, and navigation bonus.

(Duo) Terrain Battle: Ask a sibling or parent to play a giant who can only walk. They have 10 HP and you have one. The goal is to drop the giant without them hitting you anywhere (unless you are using only martial arts in which case, you can only be hit on your hands, forearms and feet). Place some ropes, strings, or blankets down on the ground as “rocks” that if touched or crossed knockout the person who crosses or touches them. Use the terrain to out maneuver and maybe even drop your opponent.

(Bonus for terrain use which allows you to “Push” opponent back instead of dealing a damage (effective Knockback)).

(Solo) Obstacle Course: find a room or a space that you can set up some objects that are safe to jump over, climb under, or otherwise maneuver around. You need to have at least ten “challenges” or objects to get past (note- if you only have space for five, just do them in reverse once you reach the end). Time yourself trying to get past all of these obstacles. Do this at least 10 times and record your best time. If you knock over parts of the course you also must retry.

(Bonus to dodge which allows you to have a chance to be able to move through an encounter without opponents getting opportunity attacks on you- GM will factor in the difficulty of the task, but also the speed. If everything is easy challenges, you can only bypass easy opponents).

(Solo) Art In Nature- For this activity, you head outside and find a place that has plenty of natural objects you can use to work with (sticks, rocks, flowers for picking, etc.). Once you have chosen the spot, see if you can make some kind of art or design that you make only out of what you find there and build using the natural objects only. When you are done, if you can take a picture of the object, think about the best direction to photo it and the best way to reveal what it is all about. Share the photo with other people in the camp and exchange ideas for future projects.

(Bonus here has to do with increase skill with Rituals, Elder Sorcery, and interaction with Primal Forces- baseline 5% plus more for creativity and sharing, mana efficiency is also affected)

(Solo) Scavenger Hunt- For this activity you must search your neighborhood or yard, etc. for the following items. Your score is based on how many of the items you can find, not on the time it takes you to find them. Some may be impossible in your location, and that is fine, but there should be enough for you to still find plenty. You may need to be creative with how you find these. [A butterfly, a bee, three red flowers, three white flower, chain that is attached to something, a living mammal (not a human or pet), seven birds, three different colored leaves, six different types of transportation, any amount of trash (from your own yard) that needs to be cleaned up and put in the garbage.

[This gives a bonus to Area Search as well as may reveal items, papers, clues, and gold the character finds- see you GM with what you find (a picture might be good too)]

(Duo) Combat Hide and Seek- For this activity you and an adult or friend play a classic game of Hide and Seek where one person has to hide while the other counts to 60 to provide them with time to find a place to go. The Seeker has only 3 minutes to find the Hiding player. If they cannot find you in this amount of time, you win. If they do find you, you must attempt to tag them on the back (only) before they tag you (anywhere) for

you to score a point. You can be Hider or the Seeker or take turns at each.

At least 10 rounds to register a stat. (May gain Hide until next lunch, also may gain extra hidden attack beyond first attack from hiding bonus or points towards training special classes).

(Duo) Mediator Chores- For this activity, you need to accomplish two things during your break. If you can accomplish both, you score a point, and may repeat this as many times as you like through your break. First, you need to ask a friend or adult for a task around the house or yard etc. that needs to get done. Be prepared to do it even if what they ask you do isn’t something you enjoy (that’s kind of the point). The task shouldn’t be huge, but more like a 15 minute job. Next, you need to look around your house or yard for things that the adults or siblings are doing and figure out something you can do that fixes a problem, or gets something done that really would be nice to have completed, without being asked. This is the important part! If you are asked to do it, it counts for the first point, but if you do it and you were not asked, it counts for the second point. Make sure to see if what you did made a difference to others, or just to you and how you feel about yourself.

(Mediator Trade Craft Bonus: +3 bonus to a Mediator Trade Craft for each set of chores completed. Tasks need to take at least 10min to complete for it to count.)

(Duo) Sneak-a-Tag- For this activity, you will need two players. The first sits with a blindfold (or with eyes closed) listening and waiting. The second player tries to sneak up on the first and tag them in the open Zone (belly button area). The first player attempts to tag the second from their sitting position. They can only make three total “strikes” or “tags” during the entire game, so they must wait and be sure that the person approaching is within striking distance before making an attack, though they cannot see them. If using larp weapons for this activity it is advised to use flail or rounded items that cannot flat blade. You could use a fun noodle or simply your hand.

(Bonus for this are Scouting and increased reaction roll, Hide and Stealth) Do at least 10 of these. 60%

(Duo) Fighting An Ethereal Being: How this works- The student asks an adult or a sibling to play an Ethereal being for them. The undead has 5 HP (total) while the student only has 1 HP. The person playing the ethereal being may “vanish” three times only during the fight (they say Instant Ethereal, and are gone. They count to 5 and say Manifesting to reappear. They can only stay ethereal for 1 minute). The person playing the ethereal being can only walk while ethereal, but the attacker cannot see them while they are ethereal, so they may hide or sneak away if they wish to be found by the hunter. The goal is to tag the ethereal being all 5 times without getting tagged on the torso (it’s fine if the ethereal being hits your arms or legs). You may use larp weapons you have if you wish, or simply use your hands or perhaps some fun noodles. Keep track of your score. How many times do you try this game, and how many times do you win. Report this to your GM for a bonus to your characters stats. If you do this more than just Monday, the bonus may become longer lasting.
