League Info-

Time Jump 2019-2020 Implementation Notes (for player reference)





This league has the players as members of a traveling circus.  Many are trying to lose their past, stay away from those that might be seeking them, or become famous.  The group currently resides in REEDMEN.





Circus Role: All of the characters have a special role in the circus that they get to assign themselves which gives them basic skill in this area in any Out of combat situation (consider this like Acrobatics in out of combat situations if you are in the tight rope walking act, or Gambler level 5 if you run the games booth).





Costume - one piece of distinct costume is required for each character.  Players should only wear this piece of costume when in character as their character.  Gives +1 to any Trade Craft you already have (Max +5).  If specific to a type of craft, +10 is the max.





Experience Points: both Club and AL will use the experience point system, not sets.

Max of 30 per Month (this does not increase!)

Extra can be given to level up others to this maximum and/or replace lost ones.

Flat of 8 exp per session (any extra given out by me at end of session).





Happenings-  these can be rolled more than once a month if the players wish (once per event attended).  Each gives a flat 1 exp, plus more if the person rolling it deems this needed. These encounters should take at least 15min for them to be counted. Any shorter, and they are not being done correctly.  Keep in mind there is still a cap of 30exp per month.





Sexes in Club and AL- Players are allowed to play sexes other than the one they identify as this year (this has always been the case in Adult League, but now Club allows this as well).  In order to assist with good role play, players will need to wear a second name tag (yellow) that has their characters name and either a “M” “F” or “O” for the way in which this character seems to appear to others.  Remember that their actual sex, orientation, and sexual identities may be far from this outer appearance and character will have to discover these things for themselves and not assume.





Playing Beings with HP-  This is fine so long as players know they will be called on Confidence Armor and will be set to 0 HP for the encounter (incapable of having more than 1 Hit) when this happens.  If it happens multiple times at multiple events, they will lose this privilege.





Key Elements-  these are random and dealt out if the player wishes in an opt in system.  You may get one randomly from me. Some have parts to fill out, others are already complete.  You should not ask about other people’s Key Elements as this is supposed to be secret and not everyone may have one.  You must return the slip to me at some point so I can confirm what you have and then plot accordingly.





Creative Not Inventive:  This season and in particularly this setting requires a lot of creative additions from the players.  The encounters are only the bare bones of the world, and players are encouraged to add to each and every encounter with their own creative additions, rather than wait for the GM to always assign these additions.  Elements such as comedic, dramatic, or interlocking themes should be supported.  The only requirement for these flavor additions is that they are predominantly just that, flavor, and don’t upset the goal or meaning of the encounter, and that the idea for the flavor is vetted with the baddies first, so they can all support the scene and make it come to life.





I will not rescue you- if you decide to play a character that does not fit the setting, has counter goals, wants to engage in elements of the plot that could take you beyond the scope of the setting, I will not rescue you.  You are expected to follow the story and understand that each day presents opportunity for new developments but not a specific plot arc that you must complete.  If you act in ways counter to the setting and get arrested you will serve your time (years in prison) and I will not “fix” the story to let you back in.  You will be gone, and required to make a new character.  The circus is just the place you happen to be.  You are not protected by the circus or other individuals. Your actions can and will be held against you, not the circus itself, which does not take responsibility for your actions.  Should your actions incriminate the circus, you will be dropped by them immediately.
